Winegrowers for five generations, the Vrignaud family, works, converts into wine and commercializes wines of their own on the village of Fontenay-près-Chablis.

The first grapevines were planted in 1955 and gave our most prestigious vintage the premier cru Chablis Fourchaume “les côtes de Fontenay” today.

Marketing began in 1991 when Joëlle and Michel decided to sell a part of their wine in bottles, they started with 3500 bottles a year.

In 1999, Guillaume comes back, after his studies, on the domaine.

The same year, vathouse news is constructed then in 2000, the space of stocking and labelling.

In 2008, the vathouse is reorganized and a new installation for grape harvest is set up. Right now on the Domaine Vrignaud commercializes more than half of its production in bottles.

19 hectare domain is located on the village of Fontenay-près-Chablis in the middle of the first vineyards Fourchaume and not far from “Grands Crus”.

It is a typical village of the Chablisien where has been founded the commanderie of the Templars, by 1130, and its church of the 12th century is the most ancient of the vineyard.

Located in the department of l’Yonne, the Chablisien vineyard is at the same distance between Paris and Beaune.

The Chablis’ vineyard occupies the slopes which edge the valley of the Serein, small river rushing through l’Yonne.

It is an undulating region summits of which are very often woody.
The production of the Chablis’ vineyard stretches from about twenty communities.
